SenderID is a field in SMS message which contains a sender identificator (a phone number by default). This is what is displayed on a mobile phone when you receive SMS in a sender field. We often receive a question: Is it possible to change senderID to any chosen alphanumeric characters?
Changing senderID is possible only on cellular operator level. Due to security reasons, it is not possible to change senderID field on a 2G/3G/4G modem level. It would be a great field for abuse if this would be possible on a modem.
However, from our experience we know that there are operators who offer a change of the senderID field associated with a SIM. If you would like to change a senderID of your SIM, please contact your cellular operator and ask him if he provides such a feature.
