Multi-domain support for LDAP

Martin Kreutz

In a multi-domain LDAP (AD, Active Directory) forest, users that want to log in to SMSEagle may be in different child domains.
With the current setup (Domain and DN to be specified), when entering those details for one child domain there doesn't seem to be a working way of specifying either user lookup in the Global Catalogue (GC) on the Domain Controller AND/OR specifying the parent domain and enabling subtree lookup using a unique identifier such as the users UPN.

This would greatly enhance LDAP functionality for business/enterprise users!

Additionally, the possibility of specifying multiple Domain Controllers/LDAP servers for failover reasons would be great!

In the software release 6.20, we have implemented support for multiple Domain Controllers/LDAP servers.

Thank you a lot for that! Do you think that Multi-Domain forest support will be added in the near future as well? It could possibly be a simple change of supporting usage of UserPrincipalName as the user name since that is part of the Global Catalog that's replicated across all forest.

Hi, I just checked and in version 6.30, there is no obvious option for multiple domains (Domains with child domains). Can this be revisited at some point? That would be great!
