It would be great if the system can be configured to define which sim card should the sms messages go through. e.g email 1 to Sim1 or Email 2 to sim 2, even email 1 to sim 2 etc.

Thanks for the idea. I understand that it relates to Email2SMS plugin. How can we implement this? Would it be sufficient when you put in email subject "modemno=1" or "modemno=2" to choose a modem for sending of SMS?

yes that would be a good start or have a filter option e.g @hotmail.com modem 1, @gmail.com modem 2.
